Your body… it is a funny thing. Growing up and always having irregular cycles never bothered me, it was always part of my life.
Fast forward a few years and babies is all we talked about. I always thought that I’d be a young mom. After over four years of trying and nothing happening, we knew that something wasn’t right. Doctors and consultant appointments confirmed the issue, I had PCOS. A silent syndrome but with serious effects. The main issue for me now became the irregular periods.
So, our journey began under new circumstances. Research and life changes had to be done.
One thing that I kept coming back to was Acupuncture! The medications helped but I felt that I needed more. The cycles were better but not quite there. I came across Mary Lally, at Element Acupuncture, and from the first call to book at appointment, I felt such great energy. I got very excited to try out this new avenue. I was more than a bit apprehensive going to the first appointment as I didn’t know what exactly to expect and especially all the needles I’d read about. We chatted throughout the consultation, and I felt such a strong bond with Mary. She was someone who I felt understood and that I could open up to. After a few sessions I was won over. The sensation of the needles and the days we could do moxa I thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to in the days between the sessions.
After attending Mary’s practice since September 2019, I have had five whole regular cycles that I have never experienced since I can remember. I also saw my mood and energy levels all lifted at the same time. To have someone on your journey that is so dedicated, so positive and urges you on is fantastic. Mary has such a special gift. I always say that she has some magical power but she says to me that it is all in my energy. I still strongly believe it is in the power of her hands.
This journey can wipe the energy out of you and sometimes you can lose your way, but now to have that light of hope, love and excitement for the future balled up inside brings a great feeling. Something that I lost while ago.
I think that #MaryMagicHands is in a league of her own and I’m delighted to be a client of hers. I can’t wait to start my first IVF cycle but having the encouraged hope it can still happen naturally. To have her start my journey with me but knowing she is there till the end to experience it all, what more could you ask for.
I would strongly recommend acupuncture but finding that one person that is amazing in what they do and practise especially for me with fertility issues was definitely worthwhile.
I believe that I found that person in Mary. #MaryMagicHands.
